Gyeongsangnam- Do

Welcome to this page. Since I now live in the Gyeongsangnam- Do Province I have started a page just for that area. I will do my best to have information to help to find things of interest to you here in the Gyeongnamsang-Do area. I will start with Sports activities and will include festivals and points of interest for the area. Any ideas you have would be appreciated so fill free to write and let me know your thoughts.

SPORTS

Changwan is the major professional sports center for the souther part of the provence. It hosts the LG Sakers basketball team, the Changwan FC soccer club and the NC Dinos baseball teams.  Sports in Korea is a great value and a good form of entertainment for the whole family. Here are links to the teams for you to check out.

I realize these links are mostly in Korean but whit only a small amount of clicking you will probably find the schedules so you can make plans to attend. Happy sporting!

Festivals

Held the first two weeks in October, this festival is one of the great events on the list of festivals. of the ones I have experienced in Korea it is in the top three, along with the Baekje Festival and the Andong Mask Dance Festival. Plus, it is mostly an evening event and can be taken in during the cool (for Korea) evening hours.

PLACES TO GO

Tongyeong- Beautiful City by the Sea

The city of Tongyeong has much to offer and you need a couple days at least to really take it in. From top of Miryok San to the entertaining Art Village there is much to take in. Include a trip to one of the many islands nearby and it is a really great experience. A cable car ride takes you to near the tom of Miryok San where you get a bird's-eye view of the area, and there a ferry rides to the islands located nearby. The traditional City Market should be taken in especially if you have not spent much time in a seaside town. I recommend staying in one of the many pensions located along the water front. I can recommend
the Tacet Pension (1105 Jangpyeong-ri, TongyeongGyeongsangnam-do 650-834, South Korea) Sorry, I
don't have the Phone but found it on TripAdvisor.com
